A giraffe at rest, lying on its side with its long neck arched upward — an unusual pose for the animal, and one that gives the piece a gentler character than the standing giraffe figures elsewhere in the collection. The coat is worked in raised, irregular polygonal shapes that read as pattern more than as literal spotting. At this scale it commands a credenza, bookshelf, or entrance table.
