Accessibility Statement

Venustare wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, magnify the page, or turn off animation. This page says plainly what we have done, what we know is still wrong, and how to reach a person about it.

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We are not there yet, and the gaps below are the ones we know about.

What is in place

• Every page is built from semantic HTML with real landmarks (a header, a single main region, a footer) and one heading structure that starts at a level one.
• A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard reaches on every page, so you are not tabbed through the whole menu before the page begins.
• Every photograph of a piece carries a text alternative naming the piece. Decorative images and the gradient over the homepage hero are hidden from assistive technology rather than described.
• Controls that are icons only (the menu, search, the concierge bell, the bag) carry text labels for screen readers, and the bag announces how many pieces are in it.
• The whole site can be operated from the keyboard. Menus and dialogs report whether they are open, close on Esc, and the cookie preferences dialog keeps focus inside itself while it is open and returns focus where it came from.
• Focus is always visible. Where we style a field's focus ourselves, we replace the browser outline with a visible border rather than removing it.
• Text meets the WCAG AA contrast minimum of 4.5:1 against its background throughout, including the quiet supporting text (maker credits, captions, small print) that most sites let drift too pale.
• The mobile menu and the cookie dialog both keep keyboard focus inside themselves while open and hand it back to the control that opened them. The closed menu is out of the tab order entirely rather than merely off-screen.
• If your system asks for reduced motion, we honor it: the long transitions on the product cards and the site's smooth scrolling are switched off.
• Text reflows to a single column and stays readable when the page is zoomed or the window is narrow. Nothing on the site requires horizontal scrolling to read.

What is not right yet

We would rather list these than let you discover them. The two largest items that used to sit here (supporting text below the AA contrast minimum, and a mobile menu that let keyboard focus escape behind it) were fixed on the date above rather than left on this list.

• No AAA conformance. We meet AA, not AAA. AAA asks for 7:1 contrast and a reading level our product writing does not hold to, and we are not claiming it.
• No independent audit. Nothing here has been tested by an accessibility specialist or against assistive technology in a lab. These claims come from our own review of the code and our own testing. There is no VPAT.
• Checkout is not ours. Payment is handled by Wix's hosted checkout, and its accessibility is Wix's to state, not ours. If you hit a barrier at the payment step, tell us anyway. We would rather know, and we can take an order by email instead.

It helps if you can say what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what device, browser or assistive technology you were using, but send it even if you can't. That address reaches the people who work on the site, not a queue, and we aim to reply within five business days.

If you would rather not fight with the site at all, we will simply help you directly: email the same address, or use the "Ask a Curator" chat, and we will find the piece, quote the shipping and take the order for you.
