Cookie Policy
Last reviewed August 26, 2026
This page lists every cookie and similar technology this site uses: what each one does, who sets it, and how long it lasts. "Cookies" here is shorthand: it covers cookies proper, browser local storage, session storage, and the pixels and tags that read them.
Your choices
Two of the three groups below are optional and entirely up to you. You can change your mind as often as you like; nothing here affects your ability to browse or buy.
Done. Advertising cookies are off for this browser, and the request has been passed to Google, Meta and Pinterest. If you use another browser or device, you will need to do this there too.
Strictly necessary
These run without asking, because the shop does not function without them. They are what keeps your cart from emptying between pages, what stops someone else's browser from using your checkout session, and what our host uses to block attacks. They are not used for advertising and we do not share them with anyone.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| XSRF-TOKEN | Wix | Protects forms and API calls against cross-site request forgery. | Session |
| wixSession | Wix | Keeps your session and your cart attached to you as you move between pages. | 12 months |
| client-session-bind | Wix | Binds the session to this browser, so the store APIs can reject a hijacked one. | Session |
| bSession | Wix | Lets Wix tell whether the site itself is functioning correctly. | 24 hours |
| ssr-caching | Wix | Records how the page was rendered, so it can be served faster next time. | Session |
| TS… | Wix | Attack and bot detection at the hosting layer. | Session |
| fedops.logger.sessionId | Wix | Groups error and performance logs from one visit together. | 12 months |
| capsule|payments-checkout… | Wix | Holds your checkout session so an interrupted checkout can be resumed. | Until checkout ends |
| venustare_chat_contact | Venustare | Remembers the name and email you gave the chat, so you are not asked twice. | Until you clear it |
| vst_consent | Venustare | Remembers the cookie choice you made on this page. Without it we would have to ask on every visit. | 12 months |
| vst_promo_dismissed | Venustare | Remembers that you closed the announcement bar at the top of the page, so it stays closed. | Until you clear it |
Analytics: optional
Google Analytics 4, which tells us how many people visited, which pieces they looked at, and where the site lost them. We read it in aggregate and do not use it to work out who you are. Decline this and the tag does not run at all. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing is sent to Google.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Tells one browser apart from another so visits can be counted without double-counting. | 2 years |
| _ga_157B4N5YEV | Google Analytics 4 | Holds the session state for our specific Analytics property. | 2 years |
| lastExternalReferrer, lastExternalReferrerTime | Wix | Records which site you arrived from, for referral reporting. | Until you clear it |
Advertising: optional
The Google Ads tag, the Meta Pixel and the Pinterest tag. They tell us which advertising actually led to an order, and they let us show our pieces to you again on Google, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest after you have left. Google, Meta and Pinterest also set cookies on their own domains when these tags run, and each of them decides independently how long to keep that data.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act this counts as sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and under several other state laws as targeted advertising. Turning this group off is your opt-out. We do not, and never have, exchanged personal information for money.
Some of this group does not happen in your browser, so it is worth naming separately. When you add a piece to your bag, complete an order, subscribe to the journal or send a commission enquiry, our own server sends Pinterest a copy of that event directly: the same conversion the tag reports, sent a second way so it survives an ad blocker, and tagged with an identifier so Pinterest counts it once rather than twice. Where that event involved an email address you gave us, we pass Pinterest a one-way SHA-256 hash of it, never the address itself, so it can match the conversion to an account.
The tag also tells Pinterest which collection or category page you are looking at, and what you typed into the search box on this site. All of it runs only while advertising is switched on above, and all of it stops the moment you switch it off.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Attributes an order to the ad that was clicked, and supports remarketing. | 90 days |
| _gcl_ls | Google Ads | The same attribution data, kept in local storage where a cookie is not available. | 90 days |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Identifies this browser to the Meta Pixel for conversion measurement and remarketing. | 90 days |
| _pin_unauth | Identifies this browser to the Pinterest tag for conversion measurement. | 1 year | |
| _derived_epik | A derived identifier Pinterest uses to match a conversion to a Pin. | 1 year |
Your privacy choices
Also known, in the words of the California statute, as "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
Nothing optional runs until you say yes, wherever in the world you are. The analytics and advertising groups start switched off and the banner asks before anything is stored on your device.
In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Brazil and Quebec that is what the law requires. In the United States it is not: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and Oregon would let us switch these on by default and simply offer you a way out. We decided we would rather ask first, so the answer is the same for everyone.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a binding opt-out of sharing for advertising and switch that group off before any tag runs. You do not have to touch the banner at all. Where the law requires us to honor a universal opt-out signal, this is how we do it.
In your browser. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies for a site. Doing that for venustare.com will also clear the record of your choice here, so we will ask again on your next visit. Blocking the strictly necessary group will break the cart.
Changes to this page
If we add a tool that stores something on your device, this table and the banner get updated before it goes live, and where the law requires fresh consent we ask again rather than assuming the old answer still applies. Questions go to curators@venustare.com.
